About Me

J. Kevin Barlow is Mi’kmaw from Indian Island First Nation in New Brunswick. He currently is Chief Administrator for his home community after working on the national and international level.

Barlow recently completed the Aboriginal Leadership and Management Development program at the Banff Center (Nov 2010). In 2008, he also won a national Award of Excellence in Aboriginal Programming from the Kaiser Foundation.

Prior to returning to his home community, he spent 6 years as CEO of the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN) where he tripled the budget from $1.1M to 3M before leaving his post.
