Please inquire about my fees, which can vary by type of project and flat rates are also negotiable. Many smaller short-term projects I perform myself, however I do maintain a team where I can secure fee-for-service agreements from individuals with different sets of expertise, allowing me to bid on larger projects. Many times I am called upon to step in on projects that have gone off-track and have a high output which helps to get things back on-track faster.

Proposal Development: One of my strongest skill sets is to find funding for the important work that many organizations and communities need to do.

Strategic Planning: My many years in senior management and reporting to government allow me to have a strong sense of what is needed to lead. My recent training at the Banff Center also strengthened my ability to support organizations and communities to create a solid vision.

Research and Evaluation: I am a Research Associate at McMaster University in the Social Work Department and am eligible to hold CIHR community-based research grants. I also have conducted numerous evaluations of various sizes, including developing evaluation frameworks.

Policy Development: My writing skills are of graduate level calibre. I also can use lay language to make things easier for people to understand. Whether it is internal type policies and procedures for offices; or larger level issues-based papers or frameworks, this too is a strong area I possess.

Group Facilitation and Conference Planning: During my last post, on an annual basis, we generally planned and hosted at least one major event. I have planned conferences for up to 500 people, and have facilitated smaller groups of just 8-10 people. I have a good ear and can listen for key words that help draw consensus.

Educational Resources: I have developed numerous resources used to teach about different health issues, mainly in the HIV/AIDS field. Some have been used in the prison system, others developed for youth or other groups.

Communications: I can write newsletters, edit documents, audit websites, handle media relations, organize media events, etc.
